Blogging is a great stress relief for me. The typical scenario is I put Mathilda to bed, grab a beer, settle in on the couch and type away about the day. So if I haven't had time to do that, you know it's been a busy month! It didn't help that the Great Fall Daycare Germapolooza is upon us again and Mathilda and I keep swapping viruses. I know she's a petri dish, but how do I resist those great kisses?!
I returned Sunday night from 5 days in Atlanta at a conference (I should mention, video chat and the iPad are great things. It was wonderful to see Mathilda every day and get virtual good night kisses!). I decided to take this entire week off for some much needed Mama-Tilly time. We head to Syracuse tomorrow for the Thanksgiving holiday, and I have a mock-mincemeat pie to bake. But for a few precious minutes she is upstairs napping so I can upload some photos from the last few weeks.

| the lab triumvirate, together again in Atlanta. PS- dinner at 11pm is no longer a good idea. PPS- we are no longer young or hip. PPPS, Leah is pregnant, hence her gigantic bosom. I think she would want me to add that disclaimer. |

| She is actually really into cleaning, throwing things away, and using the dirt-devil. No complaints here. |
The first weekend in November I visited that Great American City, Chicago! Can you believe I had
never been? Neither can I. It was a fantastic trip!

You may have heard there was an election here in the US of A... I walked past the East Liberty Obama Volunteer Office every day for months and finally decided to lend a hand on election day. Inspired by fear, my love of gays, healthcare, and hope, I guess.
I was sent to knock on doors in Pittsburgh's Homewood neighborhood. If you're not from these parts, let's just say it's probably not where you'd dream of living. I got hugs and high-fives from the people who were home, and most had already voted that day. It was really inspiring and humbling. The definition of a working class neighborhood taking part in democracy. I loved it.
Oh yeah, and on the street I met this guy-
After canvassing, I had about an hour before I needed to pick up Mathilda, so I did some phone banking, reminding registered voters to get to the polls. You know what I loved about the phone bank office? Young old, black white, male female, all together, listening to the Beatles, believing in our nation.

Reggie plays in a Sunday Morning Football (SMF) league. Tilly and I spent a gorgeous morning watching him play, kicking a red ball, and playing princesses in the park.

Feeling poor and hating ones wardrobe is a terrible quandary. This problem can be solved by hosting a clothing swap! I had 4 friends over for spiked cider, cookies, and an exchange of gently used clothing. I made out well- a tunic, scarf, pants and 3 shirts! Best of all, I unloaded a lot of wardrobe baggage.

Mathilda is really into the following: books, coloring, looking at herself in the mirror, busses (school, PAT, and otherwise), cooking, toy trains.
