Book of Mormon spectacular

We finally got ourselves to NY this weekend to see Book of Mormon.  FINALLY!  And oh, it was so worth the wait!  I laughed, I cried, I was shaking in my seat with excitement the entire time.  We had phenomenal seats thanks to star of stage and Tony darling Nikki M James (and best friend of yours truly- woohoo!).

Getting there was a bit of a challenge.  It was Mathilda's first flight- grade? C+.  First of all, because we use cloth diapers, we had no idea what size disposable she wears.  Turns out, we bought a size too big, which resulted in a poop-splosion on the plane.  Did you know that there is a "changing table" in airplane bathrooms?  There is.  Tilly was not a fan.  Reg took one for the team and changed her diaper and her entire outfit in said bathroom.  I had the pleasure of listening to her scream like her toenails were being pulled out from the comfort of my seat.  She finally fell asleep about 10 min before we landed.  Reg and I were not so lucky.  Sleep was inconsistent for us at best this weekend.  Ah but it was all worth it!

a photo documentary....

we stayed with my brother in law, Jean-Yves.  While fianced, you can tell he is not yet married by the contents of his fridge- expired yogurt, slimy pineapple, hot sauce, and shitty beer

Tilly loves her New York adventures.  She of course had to represent in her Yankees hoodie. They may be out of the playoffs, but she is no fair weather fan.  About 30 seconds away from falling asleep in the stroller here.

The Book of Mormon at the Eugene O'Neill theater!

Tony awards!

obviously

yayeeeeeee!!!!!!

better than getting into a club at age 18- getting past the throngs of fans because we are on the list to go backstage!  A shot of Nikki's awesome dressing room

voice folks- check out the steamer on the dressing table.  Girl takes care of her voice and wow can you hear it!

The next morning we went to Nikki's nephew's (and Tilly's betrothed) 2nd birthday party.  Have I mentioned that I love Brooklyn? The park was a 20min walk from Jean's house and full of awesome families.  Not to mention, animal crackers, juice boxes, and pizza for the party!
Tilly knows a diva when she sees one, and tries to bite some of the talent out of Nik's shoulder

Bye, New York! I love you!
Everytime I go to New York I spend the first day thinking- I could never live here.  No space, no car, the expense! within 24 hours Im ready to move my entire family into a studio with a Murphy bed.
Ah New York, why can't I quit you??
