Our house is Olympic crazy. Every night we rush to get Mathilda into bed by 8 so we can settle in (ok, fine, often with a beer and a snack) in front of the telly for some track/swimming/gymnastics/diving excitement.
I have been especially inspired by the women competitors this year. More gold medals have been won by women than men. And to add amazement to inspiration, many of these women are mothers! I love seeing the behind-the-scenes videos involving training, sweating, diaper changing and lunch packing.
Look, all moms can be great role models, whether they're working 2nd shift or running the 200. I am scared and overwhelmed by the enormity of setting an example. I look forward to watching 2016 and pointing out these beautiful moms to Mathilda.
Jennifer Pottheiser has a great series on olympic mothers worth scrolling through. I particularly love the stroller lugging to the car in olympic workout gear shot. What's your favorite?
