Presents for pretty girls part 1

As per usual, we had multiple Christmas celebrations this year.
You may recall that in March my grandmother passed away. The thought of facing a Christmas without pierogies, babalki, pie, and being crammed into Grandmom's tiny one-bathroom house was making us all a bit sadder than we liked. The solution? Do something completely different! So, we're off to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic for a five day beach vacation!
Because of our tropical travels, we first had a pre-Christmas Callowhill Street present-fest, then we'll do a beach Christmas, then a post-Christmas soiree with P-paw and Bubs. Tilly doesn't know how lucky she is!

getting the hang of unwrapping, or ripping.

new puzzle! with busses and trains and planes!

the bag had a snowman on it and she was disappointed that there wasn't a snowman inside

crayons!

"Mommy open this!" (chalk for the new easel)
best present so far, according to Miss Tilly

new books

Monster bowling from Tatie Nikki!

Putting Anna to bed in the "new" (to her) baby cradle

adding a blanket

yes, her stocking is almost her size.

anything else in there?
She also got some really cute clothes from her Aunt Mel & Uncle Jean-Yves as well as Tatie Steph and Uncle Chris, plus a gorgeous apron for when she helps in the kitchen from my grandparents. Unfortunately, she refused to model them for me to take a photo. What can I do?

It's also so touching for me to look back on Christmas last year and recognize how different Mathilda is now. Tilly is a big girl who's potty trained, with a Sound of Music obsession, who speaks better French than I do and is still afraid of her shadow (literally).
2013 is going to be a big year with a lot of changes (more on that later) so I'm more than a bit nostalgic for this past year. But before I get misty - eyed, it's time to finish beach packing. We'll check back in after our adventures!
