As per usual, we had multiple Christmas celebrations this year.
You may recall that in March
my grandmother passed away. The thought of facing a Christmas without pierogies, babalki, pie, and being crammed into Grandmom's tiny one-bathroom house was making us all a bit sadder than we liked. The solution? Do something completely different! So, we're off to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic for a five day beach vacation!
Because of our tropical travels, we first had a pre-Christmas Callowhill Street present-fest, then we'll do a beach Christmas, then a post-Christmas soiree with P-paw and Bubs. Tilly doesn't know how lucky she is!

She also got some really cute clothes from her Aunt Mel & Uncle Jean-Yves as well as Tatie Steph and Uncle Chris, plus a gorgeous apron for when she helps in the kitchen from my grandparents. Unfortunately, she refused to model them for me to take a photo. What can I do?
It's also so touching for me to look back on
Christmas last year and recognize how different Mathilda is now. Tilly is a big girl who's potty trained, with a Sound of Music obsession, who speaks better French than I do and is still afraid of her shadow (literally).
2013 is going to be a big year with a lot of changes (more on that later) so I'm more than a bit nostalgic for this past year. But before I get misty - eyed, it's time to finish beach packing. We'll check back in after our adventures!
