Easter 2013

Our Easter bunny woke up in a bad mood.

A basket of favorites like hair bows, crayons and markers, coloring books, and goldfish crackers could not remove her funk. I actually found myself saying things to her like, "I'm trying to be nice to you, but I'm finding it hard to be around you when you're acting so terrible." And gems like- "I think the Easter bunny went through a lot of trouble to put together that nice basket for you, maybe you could smile!?" Ah yes. And thus begins the time honored tradition of kids obstinately pouting for all dress-up family holidays.
Still! A party was had! The typical "strays Easter" commenced at my mom's with the usual cast of...well...strays. Lots of wine and bread later, and Mathilda's sour mood was quickly forgotten.

first stop with P-paw & Bubs, trying to find some Easter cheer.

LOVES window stickers

someone must have mentioned jelly beans

what every fishie needs- a princess kickboard! That Easter  bunny's a clever guy!

Favorite game! Where's Tilly?

there she is!
I'm not sure what to do with Easter. It is arguably the most important Christian holiday, but not being so persuaded by that one these days, it's hard to get too excited about it. Unlike Christmas or Thanksgiving where family gather from miles, Easter has always been a lower key get together for us Gillefonds. I'm also not so sure how I feel about the whole bunny. Can I keep the Santa farce going but admit that we just hide a basket of treats and little plastic eggs around the yard for good fun on Easter morning? I'll have to come to terms with this internal dilemma soon enough. But for this year, I leave you with, our Easter Lily Tilly:
