if you were here, you'd be home

i love my urbansuburban dwelling.

i love that the heat comes on, all trumpets blaring, causing my feet to sweat, my hair to blow, only to abruptly turn off, wait for the temp to drop 20 degrees and my nose to start running, before blaring on again in its fully orchestrated glory.

I love that the handle on my fridge is broken, and instead of fixing it, we have developed the muscle memory to pull it open that special way, so that it doesnt fall apart in our hands.

i love that the outlets are all in the middle of the walls instead of along the baseboards, so there is no way to hide any cord.

most of all, i love. LOVE. ABSO-F-ING-LUTELY LOVE that I dont live here:

this is the living room of an apt for rent in Moscow. My brother (I dont say poor brother, though these choices may make you pity him. No, I dont say poor because he has not been banished to this frozen wasteland of corruption and bad fashion- he chooses to live there. as in- on purpose) is moving out of his current lovely apartment where the carpets match the drapes...and the wallpaper, and this morning he shared the apartment classifieds with me.

Let's explore more of my favorites!

Keep in mind, these places are going for 600-850/month. US dollars.

i particlarly like the wooden phone, shared sink-tub faucet, and western in tv.

who needs a stovetop? and do you think that Boris lurking in the doorway comes with the place? or is there an extra fee?

  1. Sadly, tell Patrick that unfortunately, the best apartment is the first one. Barf.
