40 complete weeks are almost up on this eve of the elusive due date. Though she shows no sign of arriving on time, I'm trying to accept that whatever happens now, happens. We did the best we could with the pregnancy- pasteurized cheese, turns kicks and punches from within, nesting, yoga, what does sauvignon blanc taste like again? and attempting to form a 2-season wardrobe from a very small collection of boring maternity clothes. AH! to be back (at least to a small degree) among the land of the fashion normal. Thank goodness Spring and Summer fashion is chock full of flowy tunics, maxi dresses and the like- perfect for turning back into a normally proportioned human. I don't ever expect to be back in all of my pre-pregnancy pants, and I really don't care. If my hips have expanded beyond the boundaries of my favorite jeans, well, a growing human has been occupying that space for 10 months! (and I will repeat that as a mantra the first time I go jeans shopping once I'm out of maternity clothes! So easy to be zen now....).
We have been pretty good at taking photos throughout this process of my growing belly. Our little girl is being estimated at weighing near 10lbs (likely an over-estimation, but still large none-the-less) and I have the circumference to show for it!
A pictorial walk down maternity memory lane that really made me laugh putting it together- my how a body can change and each step seemed so huge at the time! enjoy....

| 40 weeks. Her last in-the-womb- shot. Really hoping she decides to join us in the wonderful world soon! The next photo posted on this blog of the 2 of us we will be 2 separate bodies! |
Happy Due Date! I hope she comes soon! We can't wait to meet her! I hope her weight is an over-estimation, but I will say that Emma was a pound off. During Monday's ultrasound she was 6 1/2 pounds. Less than 24 hours later, when she was born she was 7 1/2. Your belly has had an amazing journey! My guess, though, is that you will be back in your pre-pregnancy jeans in a matter of weeks. It looks like you're all belly and will bounce back shortly after birth! I will be thinking about you all weekend! Love you!
ReplyDeleteWow! I actually don't know how you are still standing. A strong tail wind and it would be all over! Still impressed that you look so fashionable. I can't wait to meet her. xoox JWK
ReplyDeleteThinking of you, Amanda! Can't wait to meet Papoose.
