10 months!

Oh my gosh, I'm 10 months old!

Mathilda turned 10 months old last week.  This post is late because our dear friend, Tara, was visiting from DC, and poor little bear's cold from last weekend blossomed again and she spent the last 48 hours coughing and sniffling, so I didn't think she was really up for an extensive photo shoot.

Vital stats:  as of 2 weeks ago: 18.5lbs, 28" long.  That's a drop down to the 50th percentile weight, 65th for height.  And it shows in your clothes! 9 months shirts fit, but we need 12-18 month pants!

looking more like a kid each passing day, even with her sicky eyes

excited bear!
So, Mathilda, where does your tenth month find us?  You had your professional film debut, but your real charms have been saved for us at home.  You've become quite the mimic and try to imitate our sounds, gestures, and faces.  You like to sing (no surprise there) and are definitely acquiring some sweet dance moves, I think your current favorite song is PYT (again, no surprise!).  You are awesome at eating by yourself and drinking from a cup.  Your favorite new foods this month included mushroom risotto, roasted rosemary chicken, and cottage cheese.  You are your father's daughter as you are quite the carnivore and will always choose beef over peas.  You are getting your EIGHTH tooth!  Bottom left to join the other 3 down there. You still don't crawl but manage to scoot around to get what you want.  You love standing up and playing with your piano and toys.  You take steps if someone holds your hands.  I wonder if you will skip crawling altogether for walking?  You babble all the time. "Dada" often means Daddy, but still represents other things as well.  "Mama" is reserved still for nursing and times when you are upset (which, thankfully, is not often). You have developed quite the stranger anxiety, which also means that your love for the people you know is intensified.  Hands down, above all, my favorite part of every day is picking you up at daycare.  I love watching you interact with your friends, your excitement when you see me. I love how you reach your arms for me, and will plant a big kiss on my cheek.  You talk the whole way home, and squeal when I take you out of the car, then we go inside and get to play for a few hours before bedtime.  Thanks, Tilly!  The rest is nothing compared to you!
