Regibald's going to be on JEOPARDY!

and that's all I can say about it.

I can't blog, can't facebook, can't tweet (ok, I dont tweet anyway), can't text call or write in any form.  He specifically had to tell "them", the great Jeopardy gods of los angeles, that we will do none of these things.

Have you met me? I have never kept a secret in my life! I'm already stressed about not being able to share! Ok, let's be honest, I might make the "dont tell anyone" a kinda lax guideline and not a hard, fast, rule. You know, like HIPPA.

What I CAN say is this- We will go to LA on Sat Aug 21, he films either Monday the 23 or 24.  If he films on the 23 and wins (yaye!) hopefully it carries over to the 24th.  They film 5 episodes a day, 2 days a week (Monday and Tuesday).  We pay our own way there, stay at the Jeopardy! hotel near the studios.  If he "loses" he still wins enough money to cover our airfare and hotel, so its basically a free trip.  If he wins and has to go back the following Monday, Jeopardy starts picking up the tab!  His Jeopardy! episode (or, Regisode) will likely air in late Oct or early Nov. Hopefully right around the time that the Steelers are realizing they are undefeated going into the bye week....hey- its been a pretty great year so far- why not!?

We've started watching "Jepisodes" again, will be playing trivial pursuit, and attending pub trivia nights at local bars.  It is nerve wracking for me and I'm not the one going on national television! They at Jeopardy! also told him that the local affiliate- WPXI- will be told that he is going to be a contestant, so he may also be featured on local news!  Woohoo 15 minutes of fame!

So, the silence begins. hahahaha- silence about Jeopardy, not silence silence- come on!

Hmmm....I can tell you that in excitement tonight I revisited my Baketressing ways and made super chocolate crackly cookies- the kind that are all moist and delicious inside with a cracked outside covered in powdered sugar.  AND we got our first CSA shipment- more on that later, as well as a little review of the new restaurant, Spoon.

true daily double? maybe?

  1. Congrats to Reggie! I am so excited for you guys!! I love Jeopardy, so I will definitely be tuning in in the fall.

When you make Chocolate Crackles, do you use a recipe with or without a cake mix? I've tried making them w/o the cake mix, but I haven't found one that I like better than the cake mix version.

    Congrats again!!

  2. Hey Sarah- I dont use cake mix. I use a recipe from Williams Sonoma baking book. 125g unsweetened chocolate, 1/4c butter, 1.5c flour, 1/2c cocoa powder, 2 tsp baking powder, 1/4tsp salt, 4 eggs, 2c sugar, 1tsp vanilla extract, 1.5c semissweet mini choc chips, 1/2c confectioners sugar. mix everything but last 2 ingredients, chill for 2 hrs, mix in choc chips, form into balls, roll balls in confect sugar, bake on 325 for 15ish min. have fun!
