single digits
Week 31 started this week, so the countdown to papoose is now in the single digits. Of course, I know that most first time pregnancies go late, so the chances of delivering in week 40 are slim, but it still feels amazing that this journey is in the home stretch!
I made a little art project for the wall above the crib. I had been considering purchasing a large tree wall decal from Etsy, but decided 1) I wanted more color; 2) I wanted lots of textures to make it visually more interesting; and 3) I didnt want to spend $150. So I made a design out of fabric scraps of all colors and textures that mimics the crib bedding. A similar pattern is the background of the crib bedding in pale brown and blue, so I wanted to replicate that on the walls but in something bright and stimulating. There are pieces of silk, corduroy, felt, flannel, plaids, cotton, seer-sucker, lace trim, embroidered details, and some of the round pieces are soft and puffy. It took very little time, and is hung with removable double-sided tape, so it will be easy to remove or change if I decide I don't like it. Hooray for arts and crafts!
