As I mentioned previously, Reggie's identical twin brother, Jean-Yves came for a visit this weekend. We hadn't seen him since Christmas, and I had never met his lovely girlfriend, Melanie, until this weekend. They were afflicted with the Amanda airline travel curse, and their flight from NYC took them through one extra city and 10 extra hours, but they finally arrived. We did a lot of dancing (firehouse lounge roofdeck (http://www.firehouse-lounge.com/Firehouse%20Lounge/home.html), Titletown at Shadowlounge (http://titletownpgh.com/), reggae at Ava (http://www.popcitymedia.com/devnews/43ava.aspx)), a lot of unique cocktail drinking (interesting creations at Embury, a pre-prohibition lounge- so no vodka, soda, etc.) and crafting (mojito parisienne (rum, lime juice, mint from the garden, and st. germaine elderflower liquor), the "gin & sun", a carryover from our Lost theme party the weekend before made of gin, creme de violette, st germaine, and dry vermouth, lemon peel, shaken).

Pittsburgh has been going through extreme summer temps- upwards of 85-90 degrees with humidity to match. So, of course, we did a lot of playing outside. Loyal readers know I stink at all coordinated activities like sports. This was proven once again when after 15 minutes of playing football in the park, I stubbed my index finger on my right hang, causing it to swell to 5x its original size, and turn all shades of black, purple, and green. Reg says if I would just relax and stop looking like I'm having a bowel movement when I catch the ball maybe my fingers won't jam. I'll try that technique next time.
I didn't get enough photos, but here are a few of the gang before heading out for dance party # 2 Saturday night. I will also add, though it is probably obvious from the photos, this is after a day of lots of sun and sunburn, and after a long dinner party out on the back patio (finally christened- yaye!) complete with cocktail and wine tour....so we're a bit red and a bit...happy...
We had a great brunch the next morning at one of our favorite spots, The Quiet Storm, in Friendship/Garfield neighborhood (http://www.qspgh.com/)- try the Hangover Hash and the Sunrise- absolutely to die for!
Even though the light was super bright in this photo, I thought it was really cute of Jean-Yves and Melanie at brunch:
