crops!

You know that we love our garden. We water it daily. Many a day I come home to find Reggie in the backyard, crouched over a small basil sprout, helping the peas climb the fence, thinning the carrots. Finally- FINALLY yesterday we saw some actual harvestable vegetables, and almost everything else has flowered.

My favorite flower, blue hydrangea. We planted this as a tiny little twig last fall and I was thrilled that it survived the winter! There are about a dozen blooms on the bush

Tomatoes (beefsteak!) starting to flower

who knew that green beans have small violet flowers?

zucchini squash flowers

peas! our first pickable crop- sugar snap peas. I think they are disappointed I only gave them a 3 foot fence to climb, I'm sure they could have shown off to at least double that

the one plant we allowed to stay from the previous owners, some kind of orange lily. There are about 8 flowers on the verge of opening
