porch re-do

You know how you buy a house, and there are a few items you say- "oh gosh, we'll fix that right away!" and then three years later you finally get around to it?  That is our porch situation.
When we first saw the house, the porches looked like this:

back porch- same blue with old rubber slip-guard to spruce it up (and our realtor, Ann, questioning why we'd ever buy this house!)

Finally, this month we set Mathilda's birthday party as our deadline and got to re-doing.  Nothing major, just some power-washing, sanding, panting, and purchase of new fixtures.  I think it made a world of difference!

new grey floor, re-painted our red adirondacks which had faded to pink. 2 coats of Rustoleum, not bad! New mailbox, too

fresh flowers!  Too early for hanging pots, but this did the trick for Mathilda's soiree

Such a small improvement but I think it adds to the curb appeal and will hopefully help sell should we ever get out of here!
