party dress

Mathilda put on her birthday party dress to go out to dinner in celebration of Reg's 31st bday.  You can't tell because of the huge bib (you'll see why she needs it!) but there is a little cupcake on the front- so it was an appropriate birthday costume!  Please note the crinolin- all infant dresses should come with a crinolin tutu skirt! 
We have quite the chatty baby (shocker!)  She gets quiet when she notices the camera- any camera- which has made it tough to capture her "conversations" or even big grins on film.
(please excuse the unmade bed. I actually do manage to make it.  some days.)

Last year it was dinner at Eleven, a backyard cookout and champagne at midnight.  This year we took 10 minutes to drink wine out of the bottle, while standing up in the kitchen, hoovering a piece of carrot cake on a styrofoam plate supplied by Reg's co-workers, all in silence in hopes of not waking the baby.  Have I mentioned that life has changed?  Happy birthday, babe!
