Anna!

I've been home sick for the last 3 days with a high fever and all around rustiness.  Turns out I have strep throat (perfect, right? sore, swollen throat for the best eating day of the year!)  However, nothing like being infirm and unable to leave the house to provide the time for blog updates.  That, and strong words from my brother that far too many days had passed since Mathilda updates were posted.  Happy Thanksgiving, bro!

We took Mathilda to Ikea last week.  They have the best kids stuff- I never knew!  I typically avoid that section, you know, all those kids.  Oh how things change!  She came home the proud owner of a soft farm set (complete with barn, cow, horse, hay stacks, fences, and a small cat) and ANNA!  Anna is Mathilda's new favorite thing.  Ikea gets a big thumbs up from me because they sell these awesome stuffed dolls. First of all, they come with multiple outfit changes - a rain slicker and boots, a dress, shorts and a t-shirt!  Second, the dolls come in gender neutral clothing and have short baby hair.  Third- and the Best part- you have your choice of 2- an Asian doll and a black doll.  How cool is that? As soon as we showed the doll to Mathilda, she did her freak-out hyperventilation bit, grabbed the doll, and chewed on her head.  Thus we became the new owners of Anna (named not by Mathilda, if Mathilda had named her, her name would be dadadatayayayananada).  Anna is the online helper for the Ikea site, so it just stuck.

Everyday she comes home from school and plays with Anna.  She opens her arms wide to give her a hug...

....then chews on her hair.
Anna needs a shower.  Yesterday I picked chicken out of her hair. gross.

I had to include this picture.  Tilly was sick last week and had some conjunctivitis.  Her left eye is still a bit swollen.  Poor bear.
