The city is covered in amazing murals. These are just a tiny representation of what local artists have created in our city. From murals advertising the business inside to "pretty-ing" up an abandoned building or lot, there is literally art on every corner in the 'Burgh.
A few I pass regularly:
along a not-so-beautiful stretch of East Liberty Blvd. The script reads: Redd-up, Celebrate, Green-up (Redd-up is "pittsburghese" for "to clean")
A University of Pittsburgh & Fred Rogers (local legend) tribute on Forbes at Atwood St in Oakland
Atwood and Sennot St intersection, Pitt's Oakland campus
along Penn Avenue in the East Liberty/Garfield section of town
One of my favorites, and actually easy to miss. On Penn Ave in Garfield, down the street from one of our favorite brunch spots- Quiet Storm
boarded up building in Garfield
Salem's market, Strip District
The Midwife Center, Strip District
unfinished mural, strip district
